Sewing Fundamentals
Wednesdays June 2-30/21, 6-8PM
You will be shown you how to measure yourself, choose the correct size pattern & alter the pattern to fit YOU!!! We won't be working with the easiest patterns. rather something that will be a little bit of a challenge, but one you can easily complete in a few weeks' time.
The first class will be devoted to measuring to determine what size is needed. After this class you will be expected to get pattern & fabric & pre-treat the fabric as described during the first class. During the second class, we will be cutting out the garments & marking the fabric prior to beginning to sew.
Course cost $44 for non SHAK members
$35 for SHAK members
Ages 12 and up
Minimum of 6 people must be registered to have class. Class Maximum 10
We only have 2 machines so bring your own machine. Will be responsible for buying any fabric and notions required by pattern.
Course will be taught by Abby Orem
She has been sewing -i.e. garment construction for 47 years. Along the way, She has gotten well acquainted with many techniques. She learned that "quick & easy" is rarely the best way to go, but you don't have to be a professional tailor to get great results.
